Let’s celebrate the joys He’s given!

Man, child, boy and girl.
The beautiful earth and all its bounty
The ocean, the sky, the rolling mountains.

But what do we cugines do first?
Eat and eat until we burst!
Yes indeed we celebrate
With food we stay up late and bake.
Spring is here and the sun is out
It’s Easter time, let’s scream and shout!
Us paisans, we do it up right
So let’s all party day and night.

Now here’s the menu we all enjoy…
Meat pies of every shape and size
Called many different things, all taste so fine!
Pizza rustica, gaina or gaza-dell
When they are ready, ring that dinner bell!
Serve a big frittata filled with soz-eege
Scaccio-fritta…that’s articokes baby!
Maybe lasagna, always some macaroni
‘Scarole and beans, coldcut antipasti.
Cheeses, broccoli rabe, braciole, oh my
Platters-a-plenty, insalate, spinach pie.

A colored egg in the middle, so much fun.
Colomba and the chocolate eggs so huge
With a prize in the middle, always something new.
Fugheddabout the Peeps, we eat Baci treats
And after Fridays during Lent, we now indulge in meat!
If you’re Italiano, then you gotta know
It’s all about the lamb, cooked nice and slow!
Turning round on the spit or roasted in the oven
Crispy skin outside, soft and tender right under!
Madonna mia, that’s Easter you see
Pour the vino and mangia all day with me!
