Sam Rodia is the son of Italian-American immigrants hailing from Serino, a small town in the province of Avellino, who reached Los Angeles at the end of the 1800s. After a failed marriage, a passionate love for the wine bottle, a job as a miner, and a harsh love-hate relationship with his adoptive country, Sam reinvents himself.
After all this work, a fall from one of the towers, and two days of continuous sleep, Sam leaves everything behind and moves to his relatives’ house in nearby Martinez.
