Bergman-Rossellini, Their Films Together in a Box Set

The Criterion Collection has now published a box set that contains three of the films the celebrated couple made together. Stromboli, Europe ’51, and Journey to Italy couldn't be classified as neorealism or melodrama and were not welcomed by the critics, yet they are masterpieces that everybody should see. The box was announced at Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò during a special presentation moderated by David Forgacs, NYU. Panelists included Antonio Monda, NYU, Kim Hendrickson, The Criterion Collection, and Ingrid Rossellini.

The last time this drawing was seen by a crowd was 98 years ago. Yet Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimo had the privilege to showcase it for a day before its auction on November 5th at Christie's. The drawing doesn't simply portray a car in motion, it is testament to an era.

The Morgan Library opened today a wonderful exhibition featuring some of the works of one of the geniuses of Italian Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci. The show includes pieces selected from the amazing collection of the Biblioteca Reale of Turin. Among the works, the famous "Codex on the Flight of Birds" and "Head of a Young Woman"

Italy presses Kerry over U.S. surveillance
