Fashion week in Elko, Nevada.
Folks got decked out for last week’s National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in ways that I couldn’t imagine in my provincial New York City. And more often than not it was the men who were stylin’ from head to toe in Elko.
Wide-brimmed felt hats, pressed shirts, brocade vests, scarfs with silver rings, pleated frock coats, huge belt buckets, and, of course, amazing boots. And for the men, it was all about the mustache, trimmed, groomed, and waxed.
Here is but a sample of the gents who duded up in Elko last week.
Colleagues Lucia Grillo and Luisa Del Giudice and I got into the swing of things and were outfitted in cowpoke chic by the Old Frontier Clothing Company for the filming of the Calandra Institute’s ITALICS TV.
