Pasquale Verdicchio teaches Literature, Film, and Cultural Studies in the Department of Literature, University of California at San Diego. Currently serving his third term as President of the Association of Italian Canadian Writers. Poet, critic and translator his publications include Pier Paolo Pasolini’s The Savage Father (Guernica, 1999), Bound by Distance: Rethinking Nationalism through the Italian Diaspora (Fairleigh Dickinson, 1997), Devils in Paradise: Essays on Post-emigrant Cultures (Guernica, 1998) and his most recent collection of poetry This Nothing's Place (Guernica, 2008). He is currently finishing a manuscript on the relationship between photography and literature in Italian culture.
