Benvenuti a "La via nuova"!

My name is Stephanie Longo; I am a third-generation Italian-American and am proud to call Scranton, Pa. my home. I am the author of "The Italians of Northeastern Pennsylvania" (Arcadia, 2004) and am currently the editor of "The Villager" newspaper in Moscow, Pa.

My Italian heritage is very important to me. My grandfather, Joe, came to the United States from Guardia dei Lombardi (AV), Italy, when he was still a child. My grandmother, Anna, was born in the US to newly-arrived immigrants from Lamezia Terme (CZ). I am a dual citizen of Italy and speak Italian fluently.

I am always looking for new ideas for posts on this blog so if you have anything that you would like to see in print, please e-mail me at [email protected]. I am grateful to the creators of I-Italy for giving me this opportunity; keeping our heritage alive is so important and I want to do my part to make sure our traditions and culture stay that way.
