Antonio D’Alfonso [4] is the author of over 30 books. He founded Guernica Editions in 1978 where he published more than 900 authors and 475 books, many of them authored by Italian Americans. Since he sold Guernica in 2010, he now works primarily as a literary translator and teaches, creative writing, script writing, film studies, and Italian at various universities.

His novel Un vendredi du mois d’août won the Trillium Award [5] in 2005. His feature film Bruco won best director award and best foreign film award at the New York International Independent Film Festival [6] in 2010. He has just completed his next feature film Antigone (an adaptation of Sophocles’ play). He has a BA from Concordia University, a MSc from Université de Montréal, and a PhD from University of Toronto (all in film studies). He has translated poets from Quebec, France and Switzerland. His latest books are Un ami, un nuage (Editions du Noroît, [7] 2013) and The Irrelevant Man (Guernica Editions [8], 2014).

 Richard Vetere's [9] new novel is The Writers Afterlife published by Three Rooms Press [10] and received a rave review in Publishers Weekly [11].   His other novels include Baroque and The Third Miracle published by Simon & Schuster [12].  He co-wrote the screenplay adaptation produced by Francis Ford Coppola starring Ed Harris and directed by Agnieszka Holland.  His most recent book of poetry is The Other Colors in a Snow Storm.  He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2002 [13] for his stage play One Shot, One Kill.  His other books of poetry include Memories of Human Hands and A Dream of Angels.  In 2010 he was made a Lifetime Member of the WGA East and was an elected to the Council for a two year term in 2012.
