All the Best of Titanus at the Film Society of Lincoln Center
Starting on May 22, and ending on the 31, the Film Society of Lincoln Center presents an all-Italian film series: Titanus, A Family Chronicle of Italian Cinema. Featuring works by filmmakers like Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Seta, Michelangelo Antonioni, Ermanno Olmi, Dario Argento, Vittorio De Sica, and Mario Monicelli, among others, the series focuses mainly on the films produced at Titanus from the late ’40s to the early ’60s.

Italian Jazz: Voce, “first instrument”
Nel jazz la voce ha avuto un ruolo di primo piano a ondate storiche: negli anni ’20 e ’30, ad esempio, cioè in quel periodo che viene comunemente definito “The Jazz Age” dove la popolarità di questa musica ha raggiunto il suo primo apice e dove sono nate tante di quelle canzoni che chiamiamo standard, o se vogliamo evergreen. Cioè talmente belle che hanno una vita eterna. La voce come strumento di grande attrazione nel jazz ha avuto una sua rinascita anche in tempi recenti, diciamo dagli anni ’90 in poi.

Design Week: anche quest’anno New York e’ sommersa da eventi, panel e fiere sul design internazionale che continua a stupire. Grande spazio viene dato soprattutto ai giovani creativi e il made in Italy offre eleganza e originalità. In particolare ci siamo soffermati su “Collective Focus: Italy” che termina questa domenica 17 maggio. L’exhibition curata da Stefano Tonchi, editor-in-chief di W magazine, è avvenuta nel futuristico Skylight Clarkson. Siete ancora in tempo per esplorare la ventata di freschezza del design italiano e internazionale.

Design Week: Once again New York is overwhelmed with events, panels and fairs about the international design week, which never cease to amaze. Much space is dedicated to the young and creative. “Made in Italy” offers elegance and originality. We specifically focused on “Collective Focus: Italy”, which ends on Sunday May 17th. The exhibition, curated by the editor of W magazine Stefano Tonchi, took place at the futuristic Skylight Clarkson. You’re still in time to experience the breathe in the fresh air of Italian and international design.

"Unlimited Perception". The Kinetic Art of Maestro Alberto Biasi
Unlimited Perception, solo show by the master of optical illusions Alberto Biasi, just came to its conclusion. A journey through kinetic art, playing with different materials, lights, and shadows. De Buck gallery opened its doors to a truly contemporary show that stems from the works Maestro Biasi created starting from the late 70’s up to 2012. Highly modern and experimental, these canvases confirm Alberto Biasi’s artistic greatness.
Cerimonia di Mother's Day dell'IHCC-NY. Onore al Console Generale Natalia Quintavalle
Sotto il patronato dell'Italian Heritage & Culture Committee di New York, il 7 maggio si è tenuta la cerimonia annuale dedicata al Mother's Day. Nel Poses park all'Hunter College, dove è collocata anche la statua “Madre Italia” dello scultore italiano Giuseppe Massari, si sono riuniti ospiti illustri.
