Gil Fagiani will be reading from the newly released A Blanquito in El Barrio [Rain Mountain Press], which is set in East Harlem in the 1960s, along with excerpts from the soon-to-be-published Chianti in Connecticut [Bordighera Press, 2010] and other works both new and old.

Fagiani, whose work was recently cited by Bob Holman on about.com as among the most compelling reads for 2009, will also read from his other collections that include Rooks (Rain Mountain Press, 2007), Grandpa’s Wine (Poets Wear Prada, 2008),  and Serfs of Psychiatry (Finishing Line Press, pending 2010).
Maria Lisella will read from her Pushcart-Prize nominated works in Amore on Hope Street [Finishing Line Press] and Two Naked Feet [Poets Wear Prada] as well as her new work.
Both readers have been widely published in various literary journals and they co-curate the Italian American Writers Association (www.iawa.net) readings, the longest running literary series at Cornelia St. Café, on the second Saturday of every month [5:45-7:45].
