VENICE FILM FESTIVAL 2013 - Moebius, by Kim Ki-Duk - First look review
Out of competition, korean master Kim Ki-Duk presents his new shocking movie, "Moebius".
The sins of the fathers will fall upon the children, the Oedipus complex, etc... etc… Now, from Sophocles to Freud and beyond, these roads have already been crossed several times. Moreover, "pain is so close to pleasure".
Kim Ki-Duk is an acknowledged master, but this time my question is: was it necessary to sample this farce of brutality, smug and grinning, topped off by the author's habit of total absence of dialogue, to reiterate these parades of very well known banality? Maybe not. Disappointment.
