Readings begin with an Open Mic followed by featured readers and book sales.
His essays have appeared in Solstice, The Good Men Project, [6] Shelf Awareness [7], The Literary Review [8], and have been finalists for Fourth Genre's Michael Steinberg Essay Prize and the Diana Wood's Memorial Creative Nonfiction Award. In 2011, D'Aries served as Randolph College's Emerging Writing-in-Residence. As Assistant Professor of English and Writing Program Director at Regis College [9] in Weston, MA, D'Aries teaches courses in creative writing, creative nonfiction, and rhetoric. He was recently appointed to the board of PEN/New England [10] as a member of the Freedom-to-Write Committee, which offers writing workshops to marginalized populations in prisons, homeless shelters, and halfway houses. The Italian American Writers Association (www.iawa.net [20]) Literary Readings is the longest running literary series at Cornelia St. Cafe. Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its literary series every second Saturday of the month. IAWA East is held even months at Sidewalk Café and IAWA West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months.
Event kicks off with Open Mic readings of five minutes.
