John DeCarlo aka Johnny Meatballs has developed a vocabulary, image and brand that draws from stereotypical Italian American culture, some of which is exaggerated and degrading and some of which is endearing. I am a firm believer in free speech so his public pronouncements are not my concern. It's what he's serving that may be distasteful.

Gabelli, the eminent philanthropist and investment innovator, will be Grand Marshal of the New York City's 2012 Columbus Day Parade, the world's largest celebration of Italian-American culture and heritage. The 68th annual Columbus Day Parade be held on October 8, 2012, and will feature 35,000 marchers and over 100 contingents, including virtuoso performances of traditional Italian and Italian-American music and dance, street performers, historical and contemporary floats, over a dozen marching bands, and national and international dignitaries.

After Italy settles for draw with Croatia, Azzurri could now use a little luck of the Irish

Italy will need a win over Ireland on Monday and a little Irish lucky as well if the Italians are to advance in Euro 2012.For the second time in two matches, the Azzurri went a goal up only to give up the equalizer and finish with a draw. On Thursday, it was Croatia, whose high pressure wore down the Italians in the second half, which rallied for a1-1 tie.
