Italy's first museum of sport inaugurated in Turin

Boxing gloves once owned by Muhammad Ali are among the 300,000 pieces of memorabilia on display at Italy's first Museum of Sports in Turin. The museum, Italy's first permanent exhibition space dedicated to sports souvenirs, is housed in 800 square meters of exhibition space in Turin's Olympic Stadium.

Italian RoboCom robot vying for 1 bln euros in funding

An Italian project to develop robot companions is among the six finalists competing for up to one billion euros in funding. The RoboCom project is being developed by researchers at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Genoa and students at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa.

De Rossi banished from Italy squad for PUNCHING Lazio captain in Rome derby

 Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli hopes Daniele De Rossi learns a valuable lesson after dropping the Roma midfielder from his 25-man squad to face France on Wednesday. The Giallorossi vice-captain fell foul of Prandelli's strict code of ethics when he punched Lazio captain Stefano Mauri during yesterday's Rome derby, which Lazio went on to win 3-2.
