Tony and Marisa May are set to launch a brand new scholarship dedicated to keeping the legacy of fine Italian cuisine alive!
In partnership with the James Beard Foundation, a fundraiser for the scholarship, will take place at SD26 on Tuesday January 20th from 6pm 11pm. Tickets are $95 (all inclusive) and $75 for James Beard Foundation members

Former President Giorgio Napolitano left office definitively Jan. 14, returning to his home in Rome’s colorful, ancient Monti quarter, a stone’s throw from Trajan’s Forum. His departure after nine turbulent years in office was moving to watch as, in the great courtyard of the Quirinal Palace, he received the formal farewell salute of a horseback brigade in full regalia. Now, with that ritual behind, the less elegant horse trading to elect a successor begins in earnest. Two years ago Napolitano agreed to succeed himself only to break a long political stalemate.

He left the Quirinale Palace, the official residence of the president, with his wife Clio after a brief ceremony while also saying a emotional farewell to his staff.

Italian Muslims against Paris attacks

  Italian Muslims reiterated their condemnation of this weeks terror attacks in Paris.
    Leaders in the Muslim community of Rome, site of Europe's largest mosque, expressed unified condemnation of the killings, including Wednesday's attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in which 12 people were murdered.

Renzi tweets solidarity as France terror suspects killed
