The one word that best describes Italian Americans' significant contribution to our nation.

Italian Americans are clearly proud to be Italian yet they enjoy a profound love affair with America.  It surpasses generations.  It's inexplicable.   They all appear to be born with it.  Appreciative and protective, it’s the kind love a child feels for their mother and it's displayed through their generosity

Truly if one word were to describe Italian Americans' significant contribution to our nation it would have to be generosity.  It's also the trait that makes them so attractive.
