If it seems unreasonable, do it!

If it seems unreasonable, do it!

Have my book signing at a Catholic bookstore run my nuns? What would people think?

Tools

My recent book signing at Pauline Books and Media in Culver City, CA turned out to be a tremendous success, 85 enthusiastic new friends walked away with signed copies of my new book, "What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug?"  The following week I was contacted by two of these former strangers through the bookstore.  They each felt compelled to tell me how much they were enjoying the book.  One saying, "I'm only half way through and I've been laughing and crying, thank you so much!", the other to tell me "I appreciate how simple and to the point you share spiritual concepts.  I would like to buy three more copies as gifts.  Would you be able to sign them?"  I agreed and met her at the bookstore.  While I signed each copy she enthusiastically shared some of her personal 'me too!' experiences that were similar some of my stories in the book.  To think that I almost said no to this opportunity seems insane.

Just a little over a month prior to the signing I was thrilled to be holding the first copy of "What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug?" in my hands.  It turned out better than expected.  I couldn't wait to share it with my friends, the Daughters of St. Paul at Pauline Books and Media, especially since Sister Rose Pacatte, Hollywood's movie reviewing nun, wrote a recommendation that's on the back cover of the book.  In the mist of the compliments as the book got passed around one of the Sisters suggested I do a book signing at their store.  Really?  It seemed unreasonable.  Have my book signing at a Catholic bookstore run my nuns?  What would people think?  My mind began to suggest more 'adequate' venues.  Then I snapped out of my trance and spoke, "Really, we can do it here?  That would be great.  This is the perfect place to have it!"  With that being said we set the date.  Thank God I've learned to not let reason slip me a roofie.

"God's plan for each man transcends the limitation of the reasoning mind, and is always the square of life, containing health, wealth, love and perfect self-expression.  All power is given man (through right thinking) to bring his heaven upon his earth, and this is the goal of the "Game of Life."  The simple rules are fearless faith, nonresistance and love!  Florence Scovel Shinn

So, if it seems unreasonable, do it.

I almost forgot to mention this.  Such a success was the book signing that an author who attended, impressed by the crowd lined up for copies of "What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug?" and the party atmosphere, inquired and scheduled a date for his book signing at Pauline Books & Media too.

If you'd like to purchase your very own personally signed copy of "What If Godzilla Just Wanted a Hug?" as a gift or for yourself I'd love to make that happen.  So I've made it simple: click here.
