The Brownstone Poets Features Maria Lisella and Harry Bentivegna Sat. Dec 4, 2:30 p.m.

Brownstone Poets was founded by Patricia Carragon who hosts and curates the Brooklyn-based Brownstone Poets, formally the Park Slope Poetry Society, at the Park Plaza Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights and at Tillies of Brooklyn in Ft. Greene and is the editor of the annual Brownstone Poets Anthology. She was one of the hosts for the SOS ABC NO RIO Sunday Open Series on the Lower East Side.

Patricia Carragon curates this Poetry Series that takes place on first Saturdays at the Park Plaza Restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Maria Lisella's Pushcart Poetry Prize-nominated work appears in Amore on Hope Street (Finishing Line Press) and Two Naked Feet (Poets Wear Prada), both of which are available on amazon.com. She co-curates the longest running literary series at the Cornelia St. Cafe --


the Italian American Writers Association readings held on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Her work has appeared in Feile-Festa, Gradiva, Italian Americana, Oberon, the Paterson Literary Review, Philadelphia Poets, Skidrow Penthouse, Liquer 44 (in French) and online on Poets for Humanity and Pirene's Fountain; her work appears in several anthologies including Avanti Popolo: Italian American Writers Sail Past Columbus, the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow. Her short story, Sunday in Palermo,  appears in the anthology, More Sweet Lemons, just published by Legas Press. She is a travel writer by profession whose work has appeared in Travel & Leisure, Sherman's Travel, the Newark Star Ledger, the New York Daily News and many other publications.

POET HARRY (a.k.a. Harry Bentivegna Lichtenstein) is a New York City poet, runner, health enthusiast, teacher, and Manager of Gary Null’s Eastside Center in Manhattan. Some of his poems, including Perspectives being performed here today, were published internationally. He has produced poetry and music variety shows, and self-published a novella. Harry received his MS from Howard University, Washington, DC and BA from Hunter College, CUNY.
