The Italian American Writers Association is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2016. Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its literary series every second Saturday of the months. Readings begin with an Open Mic: IAWA-East is held even months at Sidewalk Café and IAWA-West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months. Visit and join us at


Joey Nicoletti is the author of two-full length poetry collections and four chapbooks, most recently Reverse Graffiti (Bordighera Press, 2015) and Counterfeit Moon (NightBallet Press, 2016). His work has appeared in various magazines and anthologies, including Valparaiso Poetry Review, Waccamaw,The Potomac, and Delirious: A Poetic Celebration of Prince. A graduate of the Sarah Lawrence College MFA program, he teaches creative writing and literature at SUNY Buffalo State College.  For an interview with Nicoletti, visit Ravens Among Me.

Nicole Santalucia is the author of Because I Did Not Die (Bordighera Press, 2015). She is a recipient of the Ruby Irene Poetry Chapbook Prize from Arcadia Magazine for Driving Yourself to Jail in July (2014) and the 2015 Edna St. Vincent Millay Poetry Prize from the Tishman Review. Santalucia received her M.F.A. from The New School University and her Ph.D. in English from Binghamton University where she founded and directed The Binghamton Poetry Project, a literary outreach program that reaches underserved audience. She teaches at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and conducts poetry workshops at the Cumberland County Prison.
