Anthony D'Aries is the author of The Language of Men: A Memoir (Hudson Whitman Press, 2012), which received the PEN/New England Discovery Prize and ForeWord Magazine's Memoir-of-the-Year Award.

His essays have appeared in Solstice, The Good Men Project, Shelf Awareness, The Literary Review, and have been finalists for Fourth Genre's Michael Steinberg Essay Prize and the Diana Wood's Memorial Creative Nonfiction Award. In 2011, D'Aries served as Randolph College's Emerging Writing-in-Residence. As Assistant Professor of English and Writing Program Director at Regis College in Weston, MA, D'Aries teaches courses in creative writing, creative nonfiction, and rhetoric. He was recently appointed to the board of PEN/New England as a member of the Freedom-to-Write Committee, which offers writing workshops to marginalized populations in prisons, homeless shelters, and halfway houses. D'Aries received the 2014-15 Writers' Room of Boston's fellowship in nonfiction. He lives in Boston with wife, Vanessa and his son, Otis. www.anthonydaries.com 

Julia Lisella is the author of  three collections of poetry: Always (WordTech, 2014), Terrain (WordTech, 2007), and Love Song Hiroshima (Finishing Line Press, 2004), a chapbook. She holds an MA in creative writing from New York University and a PhD from Tufts University. Her poems have been widely anthologized and appear most recently in Alaska Quarterly Review, Ocean State Review,  VIA: Voices in Italian Americana, and on line at Antiphon, Literary Mama, Pebble Lake Review and other sites. She has received residencies from the Millay, Dorset and MacDowell Colonies for the arts and has held several grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. She's Associate Professor and chair of English at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, where she teaches courses in American literature, women's writing, and poetry. Her scholarship focuses on American women modernists. She grew up in Queens, New York, and makes her home in Medford, Massachusetts.

The Italian American Writers Association (www.iawa.net) Literary Readings is the longest running literary series at Cornelia St. Cafe.  Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its literary series every second Saturday of the month.  IAWA East is held even months at Sidewalk Café and IAWA West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months.

Event kicks off with Open Mic readings of five minutes.
