Happy 4th of July my friends! One year ago this weekend, I was serving holiday specials with Frankie Antipasto at the swim club --- a daily location we held for the entire summer. This year, we are both out on the road --- still occasionally teaming up on events but also flying solo. Now that I have my new Ball Bus, I am even more mobile than ever and excited to be involved with this Bergen County Food Truck group who has been given cart blanche to visit any park in the county to serve our specialties. I am still booking events both public and private but really going to be hitting the streets and park peddling this month…


July serves as the halfway point of the year (can you believe we are only six months away from 2015?) Dating back to my first gig of 2014 --- Super Bowl Sunday in February --- I have been out 5 total times (Haworth and Hasbrouck Heights fairs in May with the wagon, then the bus debut in Fort Lee in June followed by Van Saun Park and Ramapo College both side by side with Cupcake Cutie and her pink dessert bus). Every time out has been a BALL. But…I did have quite a few unexpected repairs which landed Balls-On-Wheels in the shop twice. Had to get a new battery, a whole bunch of glowplugs, a fuel pump and a brake job. This is the less glamorous side of owning a food truck but I am rollin’ forward. Now as July rolls on I will be out a minimum 3 days a week.


I know TGIF's, Chili's and those joints are fun, but please support local independents or we'll be gone, especially this patriotic weekend. Just because I go on TV a lot and am always positive don't think I am a millionaire, I am hustling 24/7. And I don't know how long this trucks-in-the-park thing will be allowed but it won't last long without YOU. I know at least two of my fellow food truckers who also had recent mechanical woes so we all could use a boost...Thank you all for the loyalty and support!
