 WHERE: Sidewalk Café, 94 Avenue A & 6th Street. Sidewalk has fostered a creative environment for nearly 30 years.

From August 6 to 16, Sidewalk Café is hosting the 28th annual Anti-Folk Festival, which has served as an incubator for a range of indie musicians, including Regina Spektor and the Moldy Peaches.  This month IAWA’s reading starts at a special time slot to accommodate the Anti-Folk Festival.

 WHO: YOU-come and read your best piece of the year – any genre: poem, flash fiction, non-fiction.

WHAT: Italian American Writers Association Literary Reading (www.iawa.net).  Since 1991, IAWA has given voice to writers through its Open Reading series on the 2nd Saturdays of the month. NOTE: IAWA-East launched at Sidewalk Café in April and takes place on the even months: August 10, October 12, December 14. IAWA West continues at Cornelia Street Café on odd months.

 

TIME: 3:30-5:30 PM. NOTE: special time to allow for Anti-Folk Festival’s start at 6 PM
